Necator Americanus
Necator Americanus commonly called the new world hook worm is a member of the nematoda phylum. N. Americanus is common in the Americas and is an intestinal parisite that infects humans. Like most nematoda it has a simple nervous system layout consisting of a ring of nervous tissue around the pharynx (serving as the brain with smaller nerves running out to supply sensory organs to the head). It also has dorsal, ventral, and lateral surface nerve cords running the length of their body. They also have bristles for touch and chemoreceptors. |
